Review - The Happy Ever After Playlist
February 27, 2026
AUTHOR: Abby Jimenez
NARRATORS: Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber
RATING: ★★★★
Summary (from Goodreads): Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a "take me home" look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.
Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?
REVIEW: Yes...I know. Another Abby Jimenez book. LOL. What can I say? I love her work. Also, this is another book narration with Zachary Webber, and like I've said in my previous reviews, I would listen to that man recite the alphabet over and over again. (*happy sigh*) I loved the main characters, Jason and Sloan. As always with Abby's books, the banter between the couple is both romantic and hilarious, which always makes for an interesting and fun read. The secondary characters, especially Kristen, are lovable too, and that's another reason why I admire Abby's work. She gets everyone involved in the main couple's love story, and the results are funny but also heartwarming. I love that there is an actual playlist connected to this story, and the song list is included in the back of the book. Most of the bands I've never heard of, but there were several I liked. I would recommend this book to everyone, especially the audiobook format. Hmmm....now which Abby Jimenez book should I listen to next?
