Top Ten Tuesday - Books Set During World War II

Hello, dear readers! This week’s prompt from Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl is books set during a time period, place, etc. of your choosing, and if you’ve been a reader of mine for a while now, then it will probably come as no surprise to you that I chose World War II, since this is my favorite era to read. I highly recommend all of these books if you’re a lover of this time setting too, and if you have any book recommendations from this era, please let me know! Happy Tuesday!

1. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
2. The Forest of Vanishing Stars by Kristin Harmel
3. The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel
4. The Air Raid Book Club by Annie Lyons
5. The Rose Code by Kate Quinn
6. The Alice Network by Kate Quinn
7. The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin
8. The Flight Girls by Noelle Salazar
9. The Lies We Leave Behind by Noelle Salazar
10. The Call of the Wrens by Jenni L. Walsh

  3. A lot of people chose to go with books set in WWII this week. Probably because there are so many of them...and so many good ones. I loved both The Last Bookshop in London and The Air Raid Book Club. :D

  5. I've read several of these, and enjoyed them. One of my favorites of all time is Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein. Another good one is We Are Not Free by Tracy Chee. It's a YA book set in the Japanese internment prisons.

  7. I also read a lot of books set during WW2. I have read all of these except The Air Raid Book Club, The Lies We Leave Behind and The Call of the Wrens. I will have to see if my library has any of these. Great list, Stephanie.
